What Are the Benefits of Using Aftermarket Motorcycle Exhausts?

What Are the Benefits of Using Aftermarket Motorcycle Exhausts?

Exhaust System

If you are a fan of motorcycles and love the chopper or the racer that you have, then it is almost certain that you have at some point in your motorcycling life considered modifying it for some reason or another. The first question that every rider faces after having had fun with his new bike for a few months is if he should modify it to look cooler, be more efficient, give more power or sometimes even make more noise. Motorcycle exhausts are usually the first thing that any bike rider considers changing on his bike. The following are some reasons why.

Power:

1. Most motorcyclists would say that they love the power of their bike between their legs when they are cruising somewhere or even speeding on the highway. The rush of a motorcycle that shoots off the starting line is something that any motorcycle enthusiast enjoys. Acceleration is one of the most basic factors of a motorcycle for its owner. Replacing the existing equipment with aftermarket motorcycle exhausts can allow a biker to improve the peak engine horsepower of his bike. These are known as free flowing exhaust systems that usually give the exhaust a straight path without the hindrance of shape change, catalytic convertors, complicated mufflers etc.

Noise:

2. The vroom of a motorcycle is one of its most important aspects for the bike rider. In fact, many motorcycle enthusiasts even take the noise factor into consideration when they are buying a new bike. An Original Equipment Manufacturer exhaust system is designed to reduce the sound levels of the bike. However, some bikers have opposing views. These bikers use exhaust systems that actually promote the amount of sound that the bike makes.

Performance:

3. In contrast to the above mentioned points, there are also bikers who look for the maximum fuel efficiency and the least sound. These are motorcyclists who prefer more futuristic bikes in comparison to raw, animalistic, conventional exhaust systems with lots of noise and power. Using well designed aftermarket motorcycle exhausts can improve the mileage of the bikes as well.

Looks:

4. There is also the factor of looks to consider here because many bikers like to have the whole diehard, hardcore biker look. This is achieved by flashier and bigger exhaust systems that announce the presence of a traditionalist biker.

Maintenance:

5. Sometimes, the demand for the aftermarket motorcycle exhausts is nothing but simply the fact that the Original Equipment Manufacturer exhaust system needs to be replaced due to wear and tear. Aftermarket exhausts are used as some original equipment exhausts may be hard to find or too expensive to purchase.

There are many reasons why exhausts are changed by the owner in their bikes. Similarly, there are many sources from which you can purchase a new exhaust for your motorcycle. However, the best medium to do so would be online because you get a lot more options to choose from.

Dodge Challenger Exhaust Upgrades

Dodge Challenger Exhaust Upgrades

Exhaust System

The Dodge Challenger began its quick reign of power in the early 70's and had a four year run and then was put on hold for another four years that was followed up by five more years and then, gone. Until the third generation challenger emerged with full force in 2008. The debut of this long lost beast was Feb. 6, 2008. And yes it does come with a Hemi. Dodge/Chrysler did not hold back when recreating this animal. The first third year generation model was an SRT8 6.1 L Hemi V8 which came in the Hemi orange. The 2010 models will not be available in the Hemi orange but will be introducing the Plum Crazy and the Detonator Yellow. Regardless of what model you choose they all can be pushed to an even higher limit than Chrysler/Dodge had originally planned. One of the most popular upgrades whether you are a car enthusiast or not are Dodge Challenger Performance Exhaust systems.

MBRP exhaust systems have been a leader in the industry for over fifteen years. MBRP has designed an exhaust to system to bring out the full potential of the Dodge Challenger. The MBRP Dodge Challenger line of exhausts covers all of the third generation models. They come ready to push power for both the dual exhaust V8 Challengers and the single exhaust V6 Challengers. The horse power gains that can be expected from the innovation of MBRP are between 20 to 30 extra horses, depending on the engine size. They come with two types of stainless steel, the T-304 and the T-409. Also they will increase torque by about 24 ft/lbs. All of the MBRP Dodge Challenger exhaust system products come with a limited lifetime warranty against defects. And if anyone cares you will be rewarded with conservative driving by increasing the gas mileage by 1-3 miles per gallon.

Next on the list of exhaust products is the line from Magnaflow. Magnaflow has over 25 years of experience in adding a little extra to the exhaust industry. Does anyone remember "Grave Digger"? As a child "Grave Digger" was my favorite monster truck. Magnaflow was affiliated with the driver Dennis Anderson who drove the infamous monster truck. Where performance mattered most, for life and a career, Magnaflow has and will continue to be put to the test. They have since moved on to a much bigger world trying to take on most car and truck models. These systems will give a Dodge Challenger a more agressive sound that we all love. They will also improve gas mileage, horsepower and torque. A price cannot be put on the beauty that this system will bring to the already beautiful Dodge Challenger.

The third and final line of exhausts that we will touch on is the Corsa Exhaust systems. Corsa started with the rival Corvette in 1998, and ventured off to create what is now another one of the leaders in the Performance Exhaust realm. Corsa has one of the most advanced exhaust systems in the world. They are tailored to deliver exactly what the Dodge Challenger needs to outperform the competition. They were designed to maximize horsepower, eliminate drone while cruising and the sound that it will create will be the voice to fit the personality of the Dodge Challenger.

There are many other exhaust systems available on the market but for time we could only touch on a couple. They were not put in any specific order and they will all increase the performance of any Dodge Challenger. Drive hard and have fun doing it!

On-Board Brake Stroke Monitoring System

On-Board Brake Stroke Monitoring System

Exhaust System

On-board brake stroke monitoring systems have been developed to communicate air braking issues in real time with the drivers, inspectors, or mechanical personnel. These systems are designed to inform the vehicle operator of a number of different issues that could potentially happen with an air braking system.

The most common braking system issues are due to over stroking, non-releasing, or inoperative pushrod travel issues. When these issues arise the truck brakes can either work at a lower than the necessary levels or become completely inoperable.

By installing an on-board stroke monitoring system driver will be alerted to these potential issues in real time as they happen. The cab of the truck will have a driver interface installed that is designed to light up LED lights when potential braking issues are discovered.

Since drivers are often unaware of existing brake defects and reduced braking capability, brake monitoring systems provide valuable information to let the driver know when brakes are out of adjustment or not working properly so that corrective measures can be taken to maintain the vehicle's safe operation.

The on-board brake stroke monitoring system is able to alert the driver to multiple safety issues regarding the braking system. Drivers could be alerted to worn, seized, or out of adjustment manual and automatic slack adjusters, slack adjusters that have not been installed properly, pushrods that have been cut too short, ruptured actuator diaphragms or leaking airlines, plugged or crimped airlines, frozen or stuck air valves, cracked or broken brake drums, brakes shoes that may be "hung-up" due to other faults in the foundation brake system or slack adjuster faults, push rods that have not retracted due to components binding, broken parking brake springs, and worn S-cams.

I only had about 2 hours to do the install until I lost sunlight. 2) Yes, my tires are fugly, but they have lasted me a very long time.
